Wildlife Variety
For those visiting for the first time, the habitat is ideal for a huge number of mammals, including 4 of the big five species (lion, leopard, rhino and buffalo). However, there is a conservancy (David Sheldrick Elephant Conservatory) within the park, which is home to orphaned elephants. Other wild animal varieties found in the park include giraffes, zebras, antelopes, crocodiles, hippos and over 400 species of birds.
Its vegetation is the tropical dry savanna type with lots of acacia trees and other thorn varieties. The beautiful landscape is filled with several seasonal rivers and government-built dams, which provide water for the land animals and life for the water- animals, e.g. crocodiles and hippos.
